Growing up in the Seventh-Day Adventist community together, it was bound to cross paths one day. While both Chris and Emily attended Crawford Adventist Academy as well as being members in the Willowdale Seventh-Day Adventist Church from a young age.

All it took was a Youth Mission trip to Prince Edward Island in the summer of 2015, for Chris and Emily to get to know each other on an 18 hour drive back home to Toronto. From constant texting and facetime calls, their friendship began to flourish into becoming best friends. (If you know Emily, she does not stop talking .. so it was a long 18 hours for Chris).

August 2, 2021 Chris took Emily to Terre Bleu as they walked through the lavender fields and took a seat Chris shared a beautiful heart necklace ("when two hearts collide and become one") then asked Emily to be his girlfriend. Since then Chris and Emily have cherished every memorable moment shared together.

November 25, 2023 was a chilly afternoon in Downtown Toronto. Where Chris gathered family and close friends to share a beautiful proposal for Emily. With the CN tower in the background and an amazing "Marry Me?" setup, was perfectly captured. Then another surprise with an engagement dinner with the rest of the family and friends that evening. Chris truly outdid himself!

Spending time and going on trips with one another's families have showed the valuable meaning of family in each other's lives. Since then they have traveled to Dominican Republic with friends, California to visit family and Disneyland, Philippines to snorkle and island hop, and Mexico to attend cousins' wedding. They are now currently the Young Adult leaders in the church and doing God's work by guiding and supporting our young people.

Although Chris and Emily have opposite personalities, God has created and showed them a path that allows them to balance out one another and fit perfectly into each other lives.
